The Beltec-Rockbolt Systems Group offers its customers and partners system solutions with fibre-reinforced plastic under the brand name FiReP®. In the areas of rockbolting systems, reinforcement, shuttering (formwork) ties, and special solutions, we apply formidable knowledge from development to production to application.
FiReP® - fibre reinforced polymer - is our special type of glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) and your solution for tough technical requirements.
What is FiReP®?
FiReP® profiled rods are produced in a pultrusion process using high quality glass fibres, with a high fibre content of about 80%.
Long strands of the glass fibres are embedded in either a polyester or epoxy resin matrix. This gives the rod high tensile strength, especially in the longitudinal direction. The resin matrix bonds and protects the glass fibres.
The surface of FiReP® rods and tubes is manufactured with a rounded threaded profile. This, and the protective coating against mechanical damage and chemical attack, is what makes FiReP® uniquely valuable. |
